Recent Round-up & Submissions Open
Hinterland news you might have missed over the past few months - and a note about our current call for submissions.
Editors’ Note
It’s been a busy few days at Hinterland HQ, as we’ve taken delivery of the latest issue and have been sending out preorder and subscription copies. We’re pleased to announce that those are all en route to their recipients, so if you’ve ordered a copy and not received it yet, keep an eye on your letter box!
Now we’ve got a moment to breathe, we thought we’d take a look back at some of the recent posts on our Substack — as well as bring you news about the next call for submissions.
Submissions Now Open
With the latest issue out, we are open for non-fiction submissions once again, both full-length (up to 5000 words) and flash (1250 words), on any subject. You can read the submission guidelines and submit here. Both submission calls close at the end of the month.
Latest Issue Out — Journeys Special
As mentioned above, our latest issue — a Journeys Special — is now on general sale. If you’ve not yet picked up a copy, you can order one direct from our website, either in print or digital formats. You can read an introduction to the issue here as well as the editorial here. You can also take a closer look at the beautiful cover here.
Editorial Picks
It might seem like a distant memory, but back in December some of our editorial team got together to discuss what they were most looking forward to reading over Christmas. You can read Andrew, Freya, Susan and Clea’s picks here.
Author and Artist Interviews
So far we have published interviews with a couple of our authors as well as the cover artist from Issue 16 — Elizabeth Lewis Williams, Alexis Keir and Aimée Uğur. Read about their current obsessions, what they’re working on now and the story behind their pieces for Hinterland, and keep an eye on our Substack over the next few months for more author chat.
